The National Parks Foundation Is Asking For Your Help
Financial support and volunteers are needed to help restore the National Parks.
Utah and Colorado are home to some of the nation's more beautiful National Parks. Here in Grand Junction, we're a couple hours drive or less to Arches and Canyonlands near Moab, The Black Canyon of the Gunnison, The Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Dinosaur and Colorado National Monuments. As the nation's longest government shutdown continues the National Parks Foundation is asking for your help.
“The partial government shutdown adversely affects national parks. From overflowing garbage cans to damaged natural resources caused by human activity, parks now have new and unexpected challenges,” says a statement from the National Parks Foundation website posted last week. There are two ways you can help. The first can be done from the comforts of your own home. Make a monetary donation. When the parks reopen your financial support will be used to repair any damage and for park clean up. To help, just click HERE.
Once the parks reopen, in-park volunteers will be needed to help clean up and get the parks back in tip-top shape. If you're interested in lending a hand you can get more information or sign up by clicking HERE. As a matter of fact, you can volunteer in the parks at any time. Colorado and Utah's National Parks are always looking for helping hands. There are several programs and ways you can get involved. Become a "VIP" Volunteers-In-Parks today! All you need to know can be found HERE.
