The Fruita DMV Is Open For Business
The Fruita office opened Tuesday.
If you live on the west side of Grand Junction, Loma, Mack or Fruita and need to renew your license or register a vehicle, you're life just got a bit easier. Community leaders and city officials all came to celebrate the grand reopening of the Fruita DMV. The office is located inside the Fruita City Hall at 325 East Aspen Avenue. It's in the same spot it was before it closed back in 2016.
It just makes sense. The property had been empty since the office closed so why not reopen? There was some incentive. The office space is being provided for free. All the county has to do is pay the utilities.
The locals seem pretty happy with the situation. I know if I lived out there I certainly would be. Fruita Mayor Joel Kincaid had this to say..."One of the biggest complaints we received was the DMV closing...so having it open back up I know there's a lot of our local citizens who are excited that they don't have to drive into Junction...it’s right here.”
It may be handy but remember this, the office is only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 AM to 5 PM.
