Fruita Police Searching for Person Who Injured Elderly Man

The Fruita Police Department is continuing its search for the person who assaulted and seriously injured an elderly man on Thursday, January 11.

According the Fruita Police Department, 28-year-old Preston Blackwood assaulted a 77-year-old at risk man in the 800 Block of East Cedar Court in Fruita. The victim suffered serious injury from the assault.

In addition to a warrant for arrest in that case, Blackwood is also wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.
