We may need to get a bigger bus for Stuff the Bus.

The 2019 Stuff the Bus campaign was a tremendous success with this year's the bus truly was stuffed. This was, by far, our biggest and best promotion in the 20 years we've been collecting school supplies.

The bus parked inside the mall was packed full of everything from pens and pencils, to notebooks, folders, erasers, glue, crayons, colored pencils and much more.

A host of volunteers, many from our participating sponsors, gathered on Tuesday for the big unstuffing event which involves unloading the bus, sorting all of the school supplies, and then boxing up an assortment of supplies for each school in Mesa County School District 51. Believe it or not, this entire process only lasted about 90 minutes thanks to all the volunteers.

This year's campaign was so successful we were able to give each school in the district two boxes of school supplies, and the schools with the greatest need got three boxes. That means a lot of kids without school necessities will start the school year off on a positive note.

We couldn't have pulled off this effort without the help of some great partners including Community Hospital, Mesa County School District 51, the District 51 Foundation, Student Transportation of America, and Mesa Mall. We also received great support from, Academy Mortgage, Village Inn, Walmart, Jimmy Johns, and Legacy Mutual Mortage.

It's also important to offer great thanks to our listeners and people in the community who donated supplies or cash to the effort. The kind and generous people in the Grand Junction area are what make this such a great place to live and we greatly appreciate each one's contribution and involvement. In addition to all of the school supplies you see pictured, Townsquare Media was able to present a check for $1,250 to the District 51 Foundation.

Another Stuff the Bus campaign is in the books and it's time to get another school year underway.
