The Colorado Legislature approved a bill which would allow for public consumption of marijuana at licensed businesses.

HB 19-1230 passed the House and Senate yesterday (May 2) and is now headed to the desk of Governor Jared Polis for his signature,

As a result, other businesses such as music venues, restaurants and hotels can allow people to consume marijuana on their property. The bill also allows communities to opt-out of it if they do not want to allow public consumption in their communities.

Should the Governor sign the bill, it will take effect beginning in 2020 and businesses can then apply for the license to allow public consumption in their place of business.

It also means dispensaries can have "tasting rooms" in their places of business to allow patrons to try various types of product.

No word on whether or not the Governor plans to sign this and another bill allowing for delivery of marijuana.
