‘Show Some Love to Palisade’ on Valentine’s Day Eve
The day of love is quickly approaching, and this year you're encouraged to spread the love not just on Valentine's Day (February 14th) but also on Valentine's Day eve to the whole town of Palisade. The 'Show Some Love to Palisade' event is going on Saturday, February 13th beginning at 10:00 a.m. and please ask your friends and family to join in as we spend some time giving some love back to where we call home.
The event page popped up on Facebook recently and I thought it would be a great idea to help spread the word. There is no question that Western Colorado is a beautiful place to call home but we need to keep it beautiful for many years to come. For this specific event, the volunteers will be focusing on the Rim Trail near east Palisade.
As mentioned on the event page, the Rim trail is supposed to be one of our most beautiful areas to show off and recently people have been leaving trash behind making it look more like a landfill. While it would be nice if people would learn to clean up after themselves, right now we need to do something about the trash before it becomes even more of an issue.
The organizers of this event are also brainstorming on how to best deal with the graffiti problem in Palisade, they hope to have a plan by the time of the cleanup efforts. Thank you to everyone who takes time out of their busy schedule to help clean up Palisade.
