Powderhorn to Host Winter Carnival This Weekend
Powderhorn Mountain Resort is hosting a really fun event beginning Thursday and running through the weekend, their winter carnival.
The festivities kick off on Thursday with the "Ziggy Stardust Snowshow Night Tour" at the Odin Recreational Center. Enjoy a unique evening of night snowshoeing with the proceeds benefitting the Grand Valley Nordic Ski Club.
Then on Friday, they'll be hosting a ski race at 1 p.m. featuring the Grand Valley Race League, followed by live music from Zac Grant at 3:30 p.m., and a bonfire with s'mores at Powderhorn Pub.
Saturday will be full of fun events, including yoga, more races, Kid's Winter Games, a three-legged snowshoe race and live music from Toph Music. The winners of the three-legged race will receive cash prizes, with proceeds from registration benefitting Mesa County Partners.
Finally, on Sunday, March 1st, the Powderhorn lift operators will be competing in a snow sculpture contest. There will also be something I wouldn't be able to do in a million years, an uphill race, followed by an obstacle snow race.
Not only will all of these fun events be going on, but everyone that participates in an event will get a raffle ticket to score great prizes Sunday afternoon.
