The restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic is the reason for yet another big festival to be postponed in 2020.

I just got off the phone with Andrew from the Palisade Chamber of Commerce who did confirm that the Palisade Peach Festival has been postponed. The guidelines as suggested by Mesa County Public Health made it almost impossible so they are airing on the side of caution and will be back in 2021.

This year has been extremely difficult for peach farmers already seeing as how there was the deep freeze in April that devastated the peach crop for this year. We did have some good news just a few weeks ago as we did see some fruit stands across the Grand Valley pop up with peaches for sale.

This is tough news for our whole community as the Palisade Peach festival brought thousands of people together each summer to enjoy some of the best fruit in the world, plus it brought in huge tourist dollars to our area as well.

Unfortunately, this is completely out of our control so we will just have to keep an eye out for fruit stands to make sure we can still get our hands on some peaches and remember to support the local farmers that made this delicious fruit available to us.

As details begin to surface for the Palisade Peach Festival in 2021 we will be sure to help spread the word so you can make plans to be there. 2021 is looking like it will be a fantastic year, fingers crossed.
