Mesa County authorities are investigating an armed robbery Sunday in Palisade.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, the Dollar General store was the scene of an armed robbery at around  10:45 Sunday morning. Witnesses told police there were three people who stole items and then displayed a gun when they were confronted. Nobody was injured in the incident and the police report did not indicate what items were taken.

Following the confrontation, witnesses say the three individuals drove off in a silver KIA Sedan heading westbound on Interstate 70. The car, with a license plate number of ZAO645 was recently reported to be stolen out of Golden.
