New Store Opens at Old Pet Store in Orchard Mesa
If you make the drive down Highway 50 in Orchard Mesa, you'll notice someone new has moved into the old Grand River Humane "Save-A-Pet" store. Who's the new neighbor?
The Save-A-Pet thrift store shut down some time ago. Since then the building at 2651 US-50 has sat empty. Not long ago, residents could see signs of activity in the vacant building. As of a few days ago, the "OPEN" sign in the window is on.
Please welcome Famous Flooring. I stopped in earlier today to see what was going on. The business features an impressive selection of laminate flooring, along with many other flooring options.
I spoke with an employee whose name I believe was Bambi (hence the "Bam's" on the sign pictured above). She provided a brochure with a list of products and services. The brochure mentions flooring options including:
- carpet
- hardwood
- laminate
- tile
- luxury vinyl flooring
Oddly, I'm in the middle of a 15-month-long remodel which thus far has focused on re-texturing and repainting walls and ceilings. Flooring will have to wait until I decide whether or not to rip out a few walls. Windows and trim will be last, which at my current rate, will be sometime in the year 2057.
Remodeling is always fun when you're moving at the speed-of-stop. Fortunately, with this new space featuring quality flooring from Carpet Direct, I may pick up a little steam and stay on schedule.
I always enjoy it when a new business opens in town. I'm equally delighted to see this property back in use. If you're heading down Highway 50 anytime soon, stop by and check it out.
