October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In some communities across the country "No Bra Day" is a real thing and way to raise awareness that us guys can really support!

First, I am in no way making light of the life-and-death seriousness of breast cancer. The Community Hospital Making Strides Against Brest Cancer Walk was earlier today in Sherwood Park and 95 Rock was honored to be a part.

No Bra Day, Thursday, October 13th, 2016 is indeed a real thing and another way to raise awareness. And will us guys appreciate the gesture? Of course, we will but more importantly, if it helps remind us guys, and anyone really, of the effort that is finding a cure to this horrible disease, then I say "take'em off ladies"!

Where the idea of National No Bra Day came from is unclear, this event has been ongoing since at least 2011, and the day may seem "out there" to some, but the National No Bra Days mission is simply to help raise awareness of breast cancer during October. Using the hashtag #nobraday on social media and encouraging women to go braless for a 24-hour period on the 13th of October. In addition, National No Bra Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of knowing how to carry out breast self-examinations, being able to recognise the symptoms of breast cancer and encouraging women to partake in regular breast cancer screening.

If you would like to help raise funds directly for Breast Cancer Care, you can donate through their website here.

So ladies of the Grand Valley, what do you say? Let's make October 13th a special day for everyone! First, you ladies will be more comfortable, us guys will thank you, and all of us will be reminded of the importance of Brest Cancer Awareness Month. No Bra Day rocks!
