Western Colorado Remembers First Concerts at The Mesa Theater
The Mesa Theater in Grand Junction, Colorado is nothing short of legendary. Located right in the heart of downtown at 538 Main Street, The Mesa Theater has been a haven for rock fans in Western Colorado for many years.
The theater itself has been serving the city of Grand Junction since the early days and consistently holds concerts all year round. Rock fans flock to The Mesa for national acts whose albums have been in their CD players for decades, up-and-coming acts, and everything in between.
In addition, The Mesa Theater is the place in Grand Junction for local bands and artists to take the stage, whether they're veterans in the scene or are debuting a new project, and local fans fill the venue every time one of these shows is held.
Curious, I posted a question on Facebook asking what the first concert Western Colorado residents ever saw at The Mesa Theater and like the artists who have played at the venue, the responses landed all over the board.
Western Colorado Residents Remember First Mesa Theater Concerts
While the majority of memorable acts to perform at The Mesa Theater tend to be rock and metal bands, that's not always the case.
In fact, some of the responses to my question listed hip-hop artists like Tech N9ne and Insane Clown Posse as being the artist that introduced them to The Mesa.
Other responses ranged from '90s alternative rockers Collective Soul and Zebrahead, heavy metal acts like DevilDriver and Sevendust, and local legends like Rezin8 and Sworn Us Under.
