Drive-In movies are coming to Grand Junction this summer.

Movie lovers are going to have another option this summer in Grand Junction as Mesa Mall launches its first-ever 'Summer Cinema Series.'

A Parking Lot Becomes a Drive-In

The former Sutherlands parking lot will be transformed into a drive-in theatre one Friday night a month from May through September. The movies are free, but space for vehicles is limited and a ticket will be required to enter the event. Tickets will be available on the Mesa Mall website.

Mesa Mall is teaming up with Alpine Bank and the Community Food Bank for this movie night event. While admission is free, attendees will be encouraged to bring donations of food for the food bank as an entry fee. Cash donations for the Community Food Bank will also be accepted. Local popcorn vendor Goodie Gourmet will be on-site for each Friday night movie event.

The mall notes that a vehicle is required to enter the summer films. Guests will be directed to a parking spot and instructed where to tune their car radio for the audio stream of the movie.

The Summer Cinema series at the mall sounds like a lot of fun for families and for date nights. I expect this to be a popular summer event. Be sure and get your ticket when they become available and let's plan to have some movie fun this summer.
