OK, so the plug may have been pulled from the Green Day American Idiot movie (no R-Pat in the lead, darn), but a group of teens is bringing the musical, featuring music from the band's 2004 album by the same name, to Harrington Arts Alliance in Loveland.

That's right, American Idiot came out in 2004. That's when I was close to the same age as most of these kids are now. I heard a lot of songs from the album in my junior high talent shows, so it's cool to see the iconic record live on (because it was a really big, really angry, deal).

'“American Idiot,” the concept album, was released by the California-based rockers in 2004 in response to the Iraq War and the musicians’ disdain for the actions of then-president George W. Bush. Now the actors, ranging in age from 15 to 20 years old, who are taking the stage are experiencing the music they grew up with in a new light, and in turn, they said it is shifting their perspective of what theater can be.'  -Loveland Reporter-Herald

The Loveland performance is an adaptation of the successful Broadway musical, which debuted in 2010.

You can read more about the upcoming show, which opens tonight (Feb.14), and when and where you can see it in Loveland this month, from the Reporter-Herald. Take a look BTS here.
