It’s True: Jason Momoa Used to Live in Fort Collins
Game of Thrones fans know him as Khal Drogo. Comic fans know him as Aquaman. Everyone knows about superstar actor Jason Momoa.
Momoa got his start in acting with a role on "Baywatch Hawaii" in 1999. Before hitting the big screen, the actor called the Choice City home for a short time. Momoa fell in love with Colorado and wound up in Fort Collins.
Momoa told ESPN he was a "snowboard and climbing bum". Which we could all easily see he would fit right in living in Colorado. Momoa was initially offered a soccer scholarship at Fort Lewis College in Durango but turned it down.
During Momoa's stay in Fort Collins, he took a job at Horsetooth Reservoir and worked as a table busser at the Bissetti's and Austin's while living at the Ram's Point apartment complex. Momoa said his goal was to get in-state tuition at CSU, but the Coloradoan says that there are no records indicating that he was a student at Colorado State University. Momoa also worked at Copper Mountain and Vail while living in Colorado.
A Facebook post by New Belgium Brewing in 2017 shows that Momoa has excellent taste in beer. The photo shows Momoa enjoying a can of New Belgium Dayblazer Easygoing Ale and a box of Girl Scout Cookies. Sadly, New Belgium's Dayblazer Easygoing Ale is no longer in production, so a beer and Girl Scout Cookie pairing in Momoa's honor cannot be had.
Jason Momoa eventually moved back to Hawaii after seeing a surfing movie titled "In God's Hands" to surf. If Jason Momoa ever decided to call Colorado home again, we would gladly love to have him back.
