Late comedian Ralphie May was beloved by many for the laughs he supplied to his many fans, but in Grand Junction, Colorado, he was most famous for a 2015 incident in which he took too many THC-infused edibles before a show at the Avalon Theater and had to be escorted off stage by police.

However, this is not the only memorable story involving Ralphie May and Colorado, as during one of the many comedy specials that he taped before passing away in 2017, May went on an 11-minute rant about how much he disliked Denver International Airport.

Ralphie May Hated Colorado’s Largest Airport

In recent years, the mysterious Denver International Airport has undergone numerous improvements, most notably with airport security, but it can still be stressful navigating the 54-square-mile facility.

One can only imagine that the difficulty getting around DIA must be exponentially worse for an obese person, and that was the case with Ralphie May.

During his 2008 Austin-Tatious comedy special, May first lamented about the size of the airport, beginning his bit with “If you ever have to go to Denver, drive, don’t fly. Denver Airport is one of the worst airports in the country, ok? It’s hot garbage. I hate…Denver Airport. It’s needlessly large.”

The comic then went on to describe being afraid while riding an escalator, as well as an especially uncomfortable ride on the train with “40 Chinese Nationals” who smelled bad, didn’t cover their mouths when they coughed, and traveled with a dead, cooked duck affixed to the exterior of one of their bags.

The rant is obviously purposefully hilarious, but if you flew out of DIA around that time period, you can probably relate.
