It’s Labor Day and Time To Take It To The Park
Labor Day may mark the end of summer, but what it really marks is the start of the best time to get outside and there's no better place than Grand Junction's public parks.
In what little time I've been here, one thing has really stood out, and that's the beauty of the parks here in Grand Junction. I got to experience Sherwood Park for the first time this past Friday afternoon at our company cook out.
All are very clean and beautifully maintained. Sorry, that's just not the case in all the cities I've lived. What's nice too is that we're coming up on the very best time of the year to take them in. Fall is tops when it comes to cookouts and family gatherings. With all the beautiful sunshine and less humidity, it would be a shame to not get out more often.
Don't forget that next weekend is the 10h annual Pork N Hops Challenge in Lincoln Park. Get your tickets today! You won't want to miss it. There's no better excuse to take in the park when you add BBQ, live music, and ice cold beer!
I've not made it down by the river yet but I've been told I need to. Las Colonias Park is pretty new, right? With trails and the river, I'm sure it's awesome and on my "to do" list. It's such a beautiful Laber Day, maybe it's time to get that done this afternoon.
Well, there's no excuse not to. With Pork N Hops coming up, and cooler temps on the way, it's the best time to hit the park. Parks rock!
