The Colorado State Patrol's holiday "The Heat Is On" enforcement period is happening now. MADD and Uber are reminding everyone to use a designated driver.

The holidays are "the most wonderful time of the year." Unfortunately, they're also the most deadly. The time between Thanksgiving and New Year's account for a 1/4 of all alcohol-related traffic deaths. Uber and MADD have teamed up help remind everyone to not take chances, always plan ahead and use s designated driver.

"The Colorado State Patrol will always be committed to advocating safe driving choices. We ask everybody to make the smart choice and arrange alternative transportation if you are even slightly intoxicated," said Col. Scott Hernandez, Chief of the Colorado State Patrol. Law enforcement will be watching. The greatest gift of all is a safe ride home. The holiday party season is ramping up. Don't find yourself arrested for a DUI, or worse, hurting someone in an accident. MADD has put together a holiday party safety guide. Check it out by clicking HERE.

Uber is proud to be named the official Designated Driving App of MADD. To find out more about their partnership, click HERE.
