Grand Junction can soon get groceries home delivered.

First, it was pizza in under an hour, now get your groceries in about the same amount of time. I hate going to the grocery store. I have little spare time and the idea of driving, parking, walking in, finding everything on my list, self-checking out, toting my stuff to the truck, loading it up, driving home, and carrying everything in just isn't fun for me. It's another task I have to squeeze into my already busy schedule. If you're like me, help is on the way! Grand Junction households can soon have groceries delivered in under an hour.

Instacart is a retail delivery service whose shoppers hand picks and deliver items from your favorite local stores. They are expanding into the Grand Junction beginning on Thursday, February 8. You'll be able to order items from Sprouts Farmers Market, Safeway, and Natural Grocers, and have your groceries delivered straight to your doorstep. The service includes Grand Junction, Orchard Mesa, Clifton, Fruitvale, Appleton, Redlands, and Palisade.

Love to shop? Instacart is also looking to hire more than 100 shoppers.

How does it work? Visit Instacart's website or download the Instacart mobile app. Select their city/store, add the items to your virtual cart, then choose a delivery window (within one hour, within two hours, or up to five days in advance) and check out. An Instacart shopper accepts the order on his/her smartphone, uses the Instacart shopper app to guide them through your list, and then delivers the order within the designated delivery time frame. For orders of $35 or more, the fee is $5.99.
