Grand Junction’s Lincoln Park Hosts Walk To End Alzheimer’s 2021
The Walk to End Alzheimer's made a triumphant return to Grand Junction with the 2021 walk at Lincoln Park.
The Alzheimer's Walk is Back!
Like so many events in 2020, the Walk to End Alzheimer's happened only virtually last year and so it was such a good feeling to see about 200 people gathering in person and coming together to support the cause.
Reaching For A Huge Goal
This year's goal is lofty - $70,000. At this point, the total raised is just under $50,000 and teams have until the end of the year to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association that provides support services for caregivers and the afflicted while continuing the ongoing quest to find a cure. Currently, it's estimated that 76,000 Coloradans are suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. Alzheimer's is the sixth-leading cause of death in Colorado.
Up Close or From a Distance
Most of us have been touched by Alzheimer's in one way or another. For some, it may be caring for a parent or a spouse, for others, it may be the loss of a relative, an aunt or uncle, or grandparent. That's why it is so important for us to support this effort. So much support is needed - and we need to find a cure.
