Grand Junction Hosts Dog-Friendly Summer Music Festival

If you've got dogs and music in the same place, it must be the annual Wuffstock Music Festival in Grand Junction.

Typically, when we have concerts in Grand Junction, our canine friends are not welcome and I think the reasons are obvious. However, that is not the case with Wuffstock.

The Amphitheater Is the Place to Be

The Roice-Hurst Humane Society will host the 5th annual Wuffstock Music Festival on Saturday, August 14 at the Amphitheater at Las Colonias. This is the one concert of the year where you don't have to leave your dog at home.

The Wuffstock Lineup is Fantastic

Headlining this year's Wuffstock is a fantastic bluegrass band from Boulder. Bowregard was the winner of the 2019 Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Once you hear them, you'll understand why. Also appearing at this year's festival is Leon & the Revival, out of Denver, and local favorites Stray Grass. Gates will open at 2:30pm and the music will run from 3:30pm to 9:00pm.

Food and Drinks Available

Besides the music, Wuffstock will feature food trucks, vendor booths, and activities for kids. Food, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Remember, you can't bring outside food and beverages in, though you can bring an empty water bottle to fill once you're inside.

Dogs Available For Adoption

Wuffstock is a fundraiser for Roice-Hurst Humane Society, Grand Junction's nonprofit shelter and adoption center providing housing, medical treatment, and care for dogs and cats until they find a home. For those that may be interested in pet adoption, some adoptable dogs will be on-site looking for a loving family to go home with.

It's Rain or Shine and Bring A Chair

As with all concerts at the amphitheater, you'll want to bring lawn chairs or a blanket. The event is rain or shine, so come prepared. You can't bring umbrellas in, but having some rain gear handy in a bag wouldn't be a bad idea.

By the way, VIP is a pretty sweet way to go with reserved parking, reserved seating, early entrance, drinks in the VIP tent, a Wuffstock poster signed by the bands, and a limited edition 2021 t-shirt.
