Living and Learning in Grand Junction, Colorado

Most of us didn't exactly hit the ground running. We started out at zero and picked it up from there. It seems there's a degree of universality when it comes to the boo-boos we make in life.

Elite Daily offers an article by Caitlin Rondino listing "The 10 Most Important Life Lessons I've Learned The Hard Way Over The Years." The list includes:

  • Failure is Absolutely Necessary
  • Nothing Will Change You Like Heartbreak Will
  • Love Sickness is the Best Diet
  • Don't Be Reckless With Your Heart or Anyone Else's
  • Pity is the Worst Thing You Could Give Anyone
  • Disappointment is Nausea of the Mind
  • The Hardest Thing to Gain Back is Trust
  • Apologies are For You, Not Them
  • Honesty is the Best Policy
  • Your Parents Were Probably Right About Everything

Here's one I just learned the hard way at the age of 52: Take care of yourself early. Don't be reactive when it comes to your health.

It All Works Out in the End

Like the website Develop Good Habits says, "...by learning to cope with the challenges, one can come out of the experience wiser and stronger, more able to face whatever else lies ahead."
