Ryan Davis, a sophomore at Fruita-Monument High School, has created a safety bucket in the event the school is placed on lockdown.

The project started as an Eagle Scout project to put together something that would be useful by all in the event the school was locked down.

Included in the bucket are water, duct tape, trash bags, and feminine products. It also includes honey in case there is a diabetic in need.

The thoughtfulness that went into putting the items together could save someone's life. Now that they have been put together, the buckets have been placed in classrooms throughout the school.

No one wants to experience a lockdown when in school, but these are the days we live in. It's heartening to see the local high school students thinking outside the box and thinking about others.

Great job, Ryan!
