The Fruita Fall Festival is one of the Grand Valley's biggest and best events. It is truly an event that features something for everyone, whether you go for one day or for all three. The annual free festival is September 27-29 and is going to be just as big as ever.

The Fruita Fall Festival features over 150 vendors selling their arts, crafts, and food, a carnival, live music, and several special events.

The festival opens at 3:00 Friday afternoon, highlighted by a street dance and comedy in the evening.

Saturday is a big day which includes a bed race, dog race, parade, and another street dance in the evening, while Sunday features a car show, 5k run, and the always popular Youth Pet and Talent Show.

There's live music going pretty much continuously on two stages so you might want to bring a couple of chairs and sit a spell. You will find the complete music and events schedule on the Fruita Fall Festival website.

One of my favorite things about Fruita Fall Festival is the large number and variety of food vendors. It's impossible to try them all, but you will want to bring enough money to enjoy at least a couple of them. It's also a good idea to have some extra cash on hand to buy something from one of the vendors selling t-shirts, jewelry, art, and host of other cool things.

Oh, and one other thing. You never know about this crazy western Colorado weather - especially this year, so it's probably not a bad idea to at least have an umbrella in the car.
