Colorado Artist + Welder Unveils Heartwarming New Sculpture
Meet Colorado Artist + Welder Sage Sullivan
The art installation, called "One Million Branches," is the creation of an extremely talented Colorado native by the name of Sage Sullivan. Not only did Sullivan design the sculpture, but she also built it from the ground up, including the welding work.
In fact, in an interview, Sullivan is pictured saying, "Any of your welding needs, give me a call," as well as "I welded the whole thing!" in a playful manner to the cameraman.
The project took roughly a year to complete and was partially inspired by a call for a work of art from Steamboat Resort using the prompt, "What makes you feel welcome in the outdoors?"

However, "One Million Branches" is far more than a tribute to Steamboat's great outdoors.
Colorado's Sage Sullivan Dedicated Artwork to Loved Ones
Unfortunately, before "One Million Branches" was completed, Sullivan's mother Terri tragically passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. While Terri never got to see the final product in person, Sage was able to share drawings of what would eventually become the work of art.
The piece is also dedicated to other Steamboat Springs locals who have since passed away including three people that Sage described as "Super Steamboat" by the names of Lacey Lewis, Nick Simon, and Caroline Lupori.
The beautiful "One Million Branches" sculpture can be seen at Steamboat Resort's Gondola Transit Center.
