What Did Creators think of South Park Colorado Before the Show?
If you're a fan of the TV show South Park and live in Colorado, there are a handful of things you probably already know regarding its connection to the state.
Of course, both creators of the show, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, grew up in Colorado, they purchased the iconic Casa Bonita after its future appeared bleak during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they named the show after a real place in the Centennial State.

However, you may also know that the real South Park is nothing like the pseudo-fictional town portrayed on the show and the creators are fully aware as both of them experienced the real South Park prior to it becoming a household name.
What Do Trey Parker and Matt Stone Think About the Real South Park Colorado?
You may remember seeing Trey Parker and Matt Stone sit down with Governor Jared Polis to officially announce their plans to purchase Casa Bonita a few years ago and it was there that the pair also spoke about their experiences growing up in Colorado.

Parker, who grew up in Conifer, had this to say about the real South Park, Colorado:
South Park to us was always the place where you would talk about there were UFO sightings and just ‘cause it was just this weird place.
Parker went on to mention South Park's small population and how he and his friends would drive around the area in search of the entrance to a secret government base. While Parker and his friends never found the base, he encouraged viewers to "keep looking."
Stone, on the other hand, grew up in Littleton and his memories of the real South Park were not as remarkable but consisted largely of his family passing through on the way to Buena Vista or the Great Sand Dunes and remembered it as "beautiful."
