Colorado Ski Season Starts Friday!
Arapahoe Basin Ski is first to fire up the lifts.
It's time to strap 'em on! This Friday morning October 19th at 9 AM the Black Mountain Express lift at Arapahoe Basin will start hauling skiers to the top. The early season start isn't anything new for Arapahoe. They're usually one of the first to open, not only in Colorado and the US but North America. With nearly two feet of snow already on the ground and below freezing temps the resort is "all systems go!"
The weather looks great for this weekend too. Here's the official National Weather Service forecast for Arapahoe...
Friday, Sunny, with a high near 39.
Friday Night, Clear, with a low around 20.
Saturday, Sunny, with a high near 44.
Saturday Night, Clear, with a low around 22.
The facility will be fully operational next weekend too. Ski and board rentals will be available at the Rental Shop for both kids and adults. You can gear up too at the Arapahoe Sports shop from 8 AM. to 5 PM. The 6th Alley Bar & Grill will be open at 7:30 AM and will continue service to 5:30 PM. Lunch will be available at Black Mountain Lodge starting at 10:30 AM.
