Firework Ban Relaxed in One Colorado City, but Not by Much
Growing up as a kid in Colorado, it was always kind of a bummer when Independence Day came around for no reason other than the fact that the only fireworks that were legally attainable were, well, kind of lame.

Sure, the local grocery store sold things like fountains, snakes, and sparklers, but merely being exposed to TV shows and movies with things like Roman Candles and Bottle Rockets would make any Colorado kid green with envy.
This year, the near-prohibition of fireworks in Colorado is as strict as ever, maybe even more so, and although it was announced that one city in the Centennial State has decided to be a little more lenient, it's really not going to affect too much.
Aurora Colorado Lifts Fire Restriction for Independence Day
The announcement that the Denver suburb of Aurora, Colorado had lifted its stage 1 fire restriction made headlines recently but before you get too excited, it's not going to change much.

In fact, it may come as a surprise to learn in Denver proper and suburbs such as Arvada and Commerce City, it is illegal to light off any fireworks whatsoever,
Aurora, however, is now permitting the sale and lighting of the milder fireworks including sparklers which can be purchased locally now through the 4th of July holiday.
It's no secret that an Independence Day celebration would likely be a lot more fun in a state like Nevada, or even our northern neighbor of Wyoming, but Colorado has fallen victim to more than its fair share of devastating wildfires which, at the end of the day, is why we see so many fire restrictions in place during the dryer months.
