Did You Know these Five Sitcoms Were Based in Colorado?
While it's fairly common knowledge that movies including Dumb and Dumber, Stephen King's The Shining (1997), and an iconic scene from National Lampoon's Vacation were all filmed in Colorado, it may come as a surprise that five rather popular sitcoms were totally based in the Centennial State.

Much like the way that while The Office was based in Scranton, Pennsylvania but filmed in Hollywood, not all of these sitcoms were actually filmed in Colorado but were based here nonetheless.
Sitcoms Based in Colorado: Good Luck Charlie
The Disney Channel sitcom Good Luck Charlie aired from 2010 through 2014 and featured a fictional family who lived in Denver.
Sitcoms Based in Colorado: Last Man Standing
Colorado native Tim Allen starred in a show called Last Man Standing from 2011 until 2021 where he played a sporting goods executive at a fictional store in Denver.
Sitcoms Based in Colorado: The Ranch
That 70's Show alumni Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson starred alongside Sam Elliott in The Ranch, a show based on a fictional cattle ranch in rural Colorado. However, the show would be canceled due to Masterson's legal problems and subsequent prison sentence which he is currently serving.
Sitcoms Based in Colorado: Community
The all-star cast of the sitcom Community included Joel MacHale, Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, and others. The wildly popular show was based in the fictional Colorado town of Glendale.
Sitcoms Based in Colorado: Mork and Mindy
The 1970's smash hit Mork and Mindy starred a young Robin Williams as the titular alien Mork and while it was based in Boulder, only the opening shot of the home was actually filmed there.
