We have another sign that things are finally returning to what was normal prior to the pandemic as we have carnival rides and fair food to enjoy this weekend. Actually, the fun kicks off on Thursday and runs through Sunday. As you can expect after noting being able to jump on the carnival rides last year there will probably be a good-sized crowd at this year’s 2021 Lion’s Club Carnival in Montrose.

The carnival will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, 4:00 p.m. on Friday, and Noon on both Saturday and Sunday. There is no official time for when the carnival will shut down each night as I’m sure crowd sizes will probably dictate how long the rides are going to be in operation.

How Much Will Rides Cost at the Montrose Lion’s Club Carnival

Single tickets will cost $1 each, with all rides requiring between 3-6 tickets for the ride. If you have kids who love the rides it’s going to save you some cash to buy the all-day ride pass available for $35 each day.

What About Fair Food at the Montrose Lion’s Club Carnival

When I was younger I was all about riding all the rides and getting nervous over the excitement of being flipped in the air by the Zipper ride. Now as I get a few years older I want the fair food more than the rides. And I’m excited to tell you there will be plenty of fair food to enjoy just make sure your stomach is okay before attempting to ride those carnival rides after filling up on an elephant ear.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
