Western Colorado will protest the closing 852 miles of trail land by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) this Saturday, May 2. The protest is to be held at BLM office in Grand Junction.

The BLM says that while some 852 miles of routes will be shut down the new Resource Management Plan will keep 2,375 miles open to motorized vehicles. The BLM also says this will help protect endangered plants and species plus get rid of some  redundant trails.

Protesters feel the government is overreaching their boundaries and the land should stay open for the public use. They want our elected officials to tell the Governor not to sing the new Resource Management Plan.

The protest will take place this Saturday, May 2 from 11 am to Noon at the BLM field office at 2815 H Road in Grand Junction.
