Arrests Made in Deadly Colorado Arson
An arrest has been made in a tragic arson that occurred in Colorado back in August.
The crime was committed on August 5th, 2020 in the Green Valley Ranch area near Denver where five people tragically lost their lives.
The senseless arson that resulted in the tragedy was allegedly initiated by three juvenile boys, with the motives of the fire remaining a mystery as of today, Wednesday, January 27th. An adult female was also arrested in connection to the incident but it is unclear as to her involvement, age, and the charges attached to the arrest.
The arson took place on the morning of August 5th at roughly 3 a.m. and tragically took the lives of three adults, a toddler, and an infant. The victims of the crime were Senegalese immigrants identified as married couple 29-year-old Djibril Diol, his wife 23-year-old Adja Diol, their young daughter one-year-old Khadija Diol, family member 25-year-old Hassan Diol, as well as her daughter, 7-month-old Hawa Baye.
It's unclear as to whether or not the family's race was a motivating factor in the arson but if investigators find that to be true, this tragic incident will be considered a hate crime.
Luckily, three other members of the household, a man, woman, and child, were able to escape the fate of the others as upon learning of the blaze, were able to jump from the second story of the house and survived.
Little is known regarding the motives or identities of the arsonists, but photos were taken showing the three suspects that have been charged wearing masks and dark hoodies.
