The Community Hospital Making Strides Walk Is A Big Success

Hundreds were out on this cool Saturday morning to walk and support the annual Making Strides Against Brest Cancer Walk.  Sherwood park, just a block from the radio station, was the site of this year's event.

A big "thank you" goes out to Community Hospital and all that walked, gave, and supported this year's event. The final donation tally wasn't available at the time of this writing, but from all accounts, the total money raised will surpass last year's event.

As most of us know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Organizations on the local, state, and national level all lend their support. The National Football League is a huge supporter and their "A Crucial Catch" awareness program, and the players month long-wearing of the pink, is familiar to most of us.

The need continues year round. If you weren't able to participate in today's walk, you can still donate.  There are several ways you can support. Please take the time and see if there's a way that works for you. Again, October is Brest Cancer Awareness month and the effort will continue until a cure if found.
