After she partially retired from the industry she went to the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality for her Ph.D. In 1998 she began the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation. A lawsuit and bankruptcy ended her organization to test adult actors in actresses for STD's in 2011.

The foundation was brought down due to privacy issues with their massive database and the porn 'whistleblower website', Porn Wikileaks. Production was shut down at several production companies when the foundation announced that an anonymous person had tested positive for HIV.
