I was very fortunate to be included on a Zoom call with several Townsquare Media radio personalities and Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor.

Taylor is going to be releasing a solo album titled 'CMFT' in October, and in the interview explained that it was the most fun he'd had recording an album since the first Slipknot album back in 1999. He also made note that while he did get the opportunity to work with TechN9ne and Kid Bookie, that he'd one day like to work with Ice Cube, Eminem, and Public Enemy.

When asked if he plans to tour in support of the album Taylor said yes, and that once he's able to get back on the road, that he'd like to support mom and pop venues if at all possible. He also said that the audience will not know what to expect at a Corey Taylor solo show and that he plans to play songs from Slipknot and Stone Sour, in addition to his solo material.

When speaking about the new album, Corey said, "Everything has such a positive spirit and such a positive vibe that when you put it on I want people to smile.

One of the singles off of the new record, 'CMFT Must Be Stopped,' has a music video with cameos from other famous musicians. However, Taylor said that some of the people he approached to do a cameo refused because they needed a haircut first.\

Perhaps the most memorable part of the interview was when Taylor's Amazon Echo began talking out of nowhere, leading to Taylor yelling at Alexa to 'shut up!'

All in all, I really enjoyed the Zoom interview and am extremely grateful that Corey took time out of his day to talk to us.
