Today is National Beer Day in America so how will you celebrate this unofficial holiday? I plan to pick up a 6pk of the new Crossed Irons from Kannah Creek Brewery and have a couple be fore dinner and if you are 21 or older I recommend you celebrate this freedom as well.

National Beer Day started in 1933 when the Cullen-Harrison act went into effect. This was the act that returned the ability to buy, sell and drink beer to the American public. Prohibition had been going on for 13 years and did nothing to stop drinking in the United States but did make bootleggers a ton of money.

Beer enthusiasts across the country have been raising their glasses in cheer ever since. This might seen like no big deal but this is one of the few times in our history that a freedom was returned after being taken away from the American public. So, take a moment to have a cold one and celebrate National Beer Day.
