It seems like reality TV shows have been taking place in Colorado quite a bit in recent memory. Bar Rescue came to Colorado Springs, a reality show based on customizing buses and vans called Gutted was filmed here, and most recently HGTV's Rock the Block was filmed in Berthoud.

Now, a new reality show from HGTV is ready to debut in the very near future which will feature a competition with a name that suggests something much more violent-sounding than it actually is.

Battle on the Mountain is Colorado's Newest Reality Show

The show sounds like something that might involve a full-contact sport like boxing or MMA, but Battle on the Mountain will actually feature home renovations much like Rock the Block.

The show, which was filmed in the mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado, pits teams of participants who specialize in remodeling homes against each other to see who can add the most value to a home through renovations over the show's six episodes.

The teams are made up of competitors that you may recognize from other HGTV reality shows such as Design Star: Next Gen, Why the Heck Did I Buy This House?, and Colorado's own Rico Leon of Rico to the Rescue.

When the six-episode season concludes, the team that adds the most value to their home will win a prize of $50,000.

The first episode of Battle on the Mountain will debut this coming Monday, January 2nd at 7 p.m. MST on HGTV.
