You Can Help Make This Colorado License Plate a Reality
A Colorado non-profit group is campaigning for the creation of a license plate honoring the victims of the Aurora theater shooting. You can help make this a reality.
According to the Aurora Sentinel, this new Colorado plate aims to remember victims of the Aurora theater shooting and raise funds to benefit the state’s Victim Compensation Fund. What can we do in Grand Junction to help make this happen?
The group Aurora Rise, a non-profit organization created after the July 2012 shooting, has already launched the campaign. To keep the process rolling, though, they'll need to get 3,000 signatures.
According to the Aurora Rise official webpage, the plate needs at least 3,000 signatures from Colorado vehicle owners before it can be submitted to the Department of Revenue, Division of Motor Vehicles, for approval. From there, the campaign will move to the State Legislature.

While Aurora Rise has, and will continue to, directly support theatre shooting survivors, proceeds collected from the plate will support other victims of crime in Colorado.
