With everyone talking about the Coronavirus and most specifically COVID-19 it was only a matter of time until we heard from President Foster at Colorado Mesa University about what their plan is just in case we have an outbreak hit campus.

As of now, there are no known cases of COVID-19 on-campus or in Mesa County at this time. But that doesn't mean campus officials are waiting for an outbreak before they start working on a plan.

As of now, the campus is open and working under normal operations. CMU is in regular contact with public health officials regarding any new information pertaining to COVID-19.

CMU Vice President for Student Services is currently working on a wide response planning effort, including looking at alternative ways to deliver coursework and contingencies for campus operations.

There are obviously lots of questions regarding campus closures, classes, events, and the May commencement ceremony. But at this time all things are remaining under normal operations and classes will resume after spring break. New information might change that but CMU has also set up a COVID-19 webpage with information and preparation materials.

There is another letter coming from the Vice President of Student Services regarding spring break travel advisories and COVID-19 best practices as students prepare to leave campus.

We will continue to update this story as more details are announced regarding COVID-19 and how it is affecting the CMU campus.
