So Inspiring: Woman Who Suffered Burns Going For Mrs. Colorado
This woman is truly inspiring. When she was a child 70% of her body was burn and now she's going for Mrs. Colorado to inspire others.
Whenever Danette Haag was 10-years-old, she was engulfed in flames after a gas leak in her childhood home. 70% of Danette's body was burned and she went on to do skin grafts, pressure garments and face masks according to the Greeley Tribune.
She almost lost hope of ever being a part of a beauty pageant. But after years and years of healing, physically and mentally, she's making her dream a reality.
According to the Greeley Tribune, Danette Haag is one of around 35 women going for the Mrs. Colorado crown this weekend.
Dannette Haag says:
I feel like it's a natural progression from where I've been and how I see myself. I'm trying to inspire other people to see their own beauty.
Me having the courage to put myself, because I do look so different in many ways, in this arena and this competition will inspire other people to see themselves a little bit differently and to work on defining their own beauty.
Danette is truly an inspiration to us all and reminds us that beauty isn't skin deep.
