Friday, July 26

  • Downtown Grand Junction will host a Downtown Walking Tour beginning at 5:30 p.m. The tour begins at the Museum of the West, 462 Ute Avenue in Grand Junction. Cost is $5 per person and pre-registration is not required.
  • Glade Park Movie Under the Stars will feature the animated movie “Brave” at the Glade Park Fire Department, located west of the Glade Park Store on DS Road.. Concession stand opens at 5:30 p.m., grill opens at 6:00 p.m., live entertainment begins at 7:00 p.m., and movie starts at dusk.
  • The Theater Project is presenting the play “Little Shop of Horrors” at 7:00 p.m. on the Theater Project Stage at Creative Avenues, 835 North 26thStreet in Grand Junction (behind Teller Arms Shopping Center). Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors.

Saturday, July 27

  • The Theater Project is presenting the play “Little Shop of Horrors” on the Theater Project Stage at Creative Avenues, 835 North 26thStreet in Grand Junction (behind Teller Arms Shopping Center). Two performance times for Saturday – a matinee at 2:00 p.m. and evening performance at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors.
  • Western Colorado Dragway will host Summit Points Racing Series at the dragway. Gate fee is $10 for non-members, $5 for members and 12 & under are free. For more information, call 243-9022.
  • The Museum of Western Colorado will host a one-day photography workshop at Dinosaur Journey, 550 Jurassic Court in Fruita. The class will begin with a half-day lesson on photographic principles and a way to get participants familiar with their cameras.   • Here’s a name that’s guaranteed to stick in one’s head – Peach Valley Bar-Brew-Still Rods & Wheels Poker Run and Funfest. The event will start at Grand Junction Harley Davidson (2747 Crossroads Boulevard in Grand Junction), will tour Grand Mesa, and end at Palisade Livery Saloon (215 Main Street in Palisade).   • Fruita Farmers Market will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Civic Center lawn in Downtown Fruita. For more information, call 858-3894.
  • The U.S. Forest Service will host the 4thAnnual Grand Mesa Moose Day Celebration at the U.S. Forest Visitors Center, 20090 Baron Lake Drive Highway 65 on Grand Mesa. Between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the U.S. Forest Service will share moose viewing tips and information as well as fly-fishing casting demonstrations.
  • John Adams will perform a John Denver tribute concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Wine Country Inn Courtyard, 777 Grand River Drive in Palisade. The concert is part of the Grande River Vineyards Summer Series.
  • The Western Colorado Botanical Gardens will host the Garden Groove Summer Concert at 7:00 p.m. at the Botanical Gardens, 641 Struthers Avenue in Grand Junction.

Sunday, July 28

  • The Grand Junction Elks Lodge is presenting its 2nd Annual Motorcycle Poker Run at 9:00 a.m., with the event kicking off at the Elks Lodge, 249 South Ute Avenue in Grand Junction. Live music and dancing will follow the event at 5:00 p.m. All proceeds will go to the Elks Hoop Shoot (annual youth basketball competition), scholarships for high school seniors, and the local Little League.   • Palisade Sunday Market will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Downtown Palisade near the intersection of 3rdand Main.
