[WATCH] Memorial Held For Greeley’s JBS Employees Who Died of COVID-19
The JBS meatpacking plant in Greeley has faced nationwide criticism for its handling of the COVID-19 outbreak. JBS was shut down by the state on April 10, reopened on April 23 and is home to the most COIVD-19 cases in Colorado.
In April, President Trump made an executive order requiring meat processing plants like JBS to stay open, citing their importance in the nation's food supply chain.
JBS employees were given a pay increase incentive to keep working during the heat of the coronavirus outbreak, even after several deaths occured within the facility.
