Spencer Wall won our ultimate fly fishing trip, which means he scored a full guide trip on the Grand Mesa and a whole lot more. Fly fishing guide Tyler Morris from Western Anglers took Spencer and his brother fishing on the Grand Mesa a few weeks ago and fished from 6 am until the sun went down. The weekend they went fishing was the first weekend the Grand Mesa was even fishable due to the snow.

Both Spencer and his brother caught their personal best brook trout during their trip. The two biggest fish were brook trout that were18 inches long and roughly 3 and a half pounds. All the fish were caught on Tyler's selection of flies while shore fishing.

Spencer and his brother and both from Grand Junction and had a phenomenal day of fishing. They got 15 to 20 fish -- each. They caught brookies, cutthroats, along with grayling.

Spencer won our ultimate fly fishing trip, which means he scored the following prizes:

  • Full guide trip for two on the Grand Mesa from Western Anglers
  • Complete rod and reel combo kit
  • Western Anglers hats and shirts
  • One dozen custom tied flies and fly box
  • Two tickets to the International Fly Fishing Film Festival

Spencer is a fly fisherman and said this was the best guide experience he's ever had. His brother says he's glad he came out there with his brother and couldn't believe how much they caught. They said this was the best day of fishing on the Grand Mesa, ever.
