Top Ten Colleges in Colorado
US News recently ranked all of Colorado's Universities, here are the top ten:
Fort Lewis is located in Durango, which is known for its beautiful landscapes, outdoor activities, and Ska Brewing.
Affectionately known as CU Denver, this university is less expensive than its Boulder counterpart, and is located in the heart of Denver.
Regis University is also located in Denver but is nothing like CU. It's a private, Catholic school that's been around since 1877.
Now we're talking. CSU is located in Fort Collins, which is a really fun town, known for its many breweries and live local music.
Here's another cool town. Boulder is much like Fort Collins in that it has a lot of fun things for college kids to do, but it is expensive to live there.
The University of Denver, or DU as it's commonly known, is another private school in Denver. And at a tuition rate of $52,000 a year, it is not cheap.
Colorado School of Mines is located in Golden, and is a top school for engineers. It's also known for having very tough classes. You have to really want to be an engineer to make it at Mines.
Coming in at number two is Gunnison's Western Colorado University. Although it made it to almost the top spot, Gunnison is not much of a college town. It's pretty small, there isn't a lot for college kids to do to keep themselves entertained, and it's COLD.
And finally, the number one spot goes to another private school, Colorado Springs' Colorado College. While it is known as being a good school, the locals will tell you that it's most well-known for its hockey team, The CC Tigers.
