'Tis the season to be jolly - and to decide on  Grand Junction's top five holiday pies.

It seems like we eat more pie between Thanksgiving and Christmas than any other time of the year, and I'm not exactly sure why that is. If pumpkin pie is so yummy in December, wouldn't it be just as delicious in the middle of July?

Pumpkin, Apple, and Pecan seem to be the most popular holiday pies, but I believe Cherry can't be far behind. Of course, there is like, what, 2,377 different kinds of pie? So to narrow it down could be tough.

But, for the sake of our discussion, let's stick with your basic standard pies. If we suddenly had to eliminate every pie in the galaxy except for five, and I were king,  these would be the five we would keep. In fact, I wouldn't be sad at all if these were the only pies in the world.

1) Pumpkin
2) Coconut Cream
3) Pecan
4) Cheesecake
5) Chocolate

However, I realize that when it comes to food I am somewhat of an anomaly, so am willing to put the vote out to the public to decide Grand Junction's top five holiday pies. I have listed the most basic and popular pies, but, feel free to write in a missing favorite. Who knows, a write-in candidate could finish in the top five.
