3 Colorado Après-Ski Bars Named Top in the Country
Skiers and snowboarders have a blast going up and down the mountains all day long, but when the lifts close for the night, the fun moves to the bars and restaurants that line the surrounding ski town.
From delicious food and festive cocktails to atmospheres that are full of good vibes, USA Today's '10 Best' list ranked the top ski town bars and restaurants across the country.
When it comes to winding down after a day on the slopes, some of the best après-ski bars are right here in Colorado.
The panel of experts at USA Today named Double Diamonds Bar in Steamboat Springs as being the best aprés-ski spot of them all. Located right near the base of the mountain, Double Diamonds Bar offers affordable drinks and friendly service. Whether patrons are shaking their legs out on the dance floor or imbibing with food and libations to refuel after a day in the snow, it always makes for the perfect place to cap off the evening. This is the third time that Double Diamonds Bar has earned the number 1 spot in this category.
The second Colorado establishment to rank on the list is Rocky Mountain Underground in Breckenridge, which came in at number 4. Mountain-goers can't miss this bright purple building, that's just as cheery on the inside as it is on the outside. From hand-crafted cocktails and a beer garden to the food truck on-site, RMU is ready for all your après needs.
Rounding out the list in number 10 spot is 6th Alley Bar & Grill at Arapahoe Basin. With 20 rotating beers on tap and their famous bacon Bloody Mary, plus full table service, it's easy to see why this base-area restaurant is a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
