As much as we would all like to always have money, sometimes we don't. But we still want to go out and do things, right?

Well, we are all in luck, because around Grand Junction you will find plenty of things to do, all without spending a cent.

Hiking

Provided you're not going hiking in a National Park, there are plenty of ways to spend the day outdoors, with friends, family or by yourself. There are scores of trails you can hike. Some made just for the lunch hiker, some all day hikes and some that contain unearthed surprises, like dinosaur bones.

Art on the Corner

There are worse places to walk around than downtown Grand Junction, and the Art on the Corner has been one big reason people go downtown. Some wonderful works of art all along Main Street for you to look at and enjoy. For free.

Wild Life viewing

Wild horses, bighorn sheep, and hundreds of species of birds are here for you to view. Get with the BLM to get a map and have yourself some fun observing the wildlife.

Fish, raft or float

Obviously to fish you need a fishing license, but it costs nothing to float the river. Take a look at some of these places and find your own favorite place to raft or float or just get the line wet.

Camping

Really? There are free campsites around here? Yes! Big Dominguez, Miracle Rock and some places in the Rabbit Valley Recreation area as well. Be sure to check for availability.
