Then vs Now: Throwback Pic of Dinosaur National Monument
Look at this throwback picture of the Dinosaur National Monument from 1871. See how much the Dinosaur National Monument has changed then versus now.
There are two outstanding pictures side by side here. The one of the left is from June 17, 1871, downstream from the Lodore Campground, according to the Dinosaur National Monument's Facebook.
The picture on the right is in the same are on the Green River, but was taken 144 years later. The picture on the left is from 1871 while the picture on the right is from 2015.
It's amazing to see that it hasn't changed much at all. It's a bit challenging to compare a black and white photo to a photo in color. But it seems as if the only two things are the river seems a bit wider, and there's a lot more grass. Even though the men in the photos look similar, I'm pretty certain it's not the same one.
Some places would be vastly different if you compared them now versus how they looked 144 years ago. Seeing this kind of side by side comparison makes me think that someone just pressed 'pause' here.
