Today the Denver Broncos released running back Willis McGahee to make room in a crowded backfield. McGahee was the leading rusher for the Broncos before he went down with a significant knee injury that sidelined him for the final two months last season. McGahee was set to make 2.5 million for the 2013 season. The Broncos will give the ball to Ronnie Hillman and rookie Montee Ball.

Just hours after releasing McGahee the Broncos signed Montee Ball and their third-round pick Kayvon Webster. The 32-year-old McGahee said he’d be rooting for the young guys in Denver and holds no bad feels about being cut. He said he knew it was coming because the Broncos are going younger.

McGahee is coming off his third major knee injury and is looking to play in the NFL this season.
