The Colorado Wine Festival To Attend If You Can’t Wait Until September
Colorado Mountain Winefest in Palisade is one of western Colorado's biggest events of the year, but if you can't wait until September, here's the wine festival you need to attend.
The annual Manitou Springs Wine Festival happens on June 2, and while it may not be as big as the Palisade festival, it's big enough. Some 30 wineries will be represented offering samples of their wine.
The event is quite similar to Mountain Winefest featuring wine tasting, food, and live music. Performers scheduled include Flatirons Jazz Orchestra, Tenderfoot Bluegrass, and Edison. But, if you go, there is a lot more to do than taste wine and listen to music.
Manitou Springs is a great place to visit with a ton of fun things to do nearby in the Colorado Springs area including Santa's Workshop, Pike's Peak, Manitou Incline, Garden of the Gods, and Colorado Wolf Adventures.
Tickets for the Manitou Springs Wine Festival are available online for $30 until June 1. VIP tickets have already sold out.
It's going to be about a five-hour drive from Grand Junction whether you take U.S. 50.or go I-70 to I-25, or I-70 to C9 out of Frisco. It's a lot of driving if you are doing a one-day trip, but there's plenty to do to make it worth your while to make it a weekend excursion.
